Honeymoon Packing List for LDS Brides and Grooms
Any successful trip starts with packing the right items, and that goes double for your honeymoon. Tailor this all-purpose honeymoon packing checklist for your trip and relax. For once, you don’t have to worry about forgetting anything!
Everyday Clothing
Remember that even warm destinations can get pretty cool at night or when hiking in high altitudes, so pack some warm clothing even if you don’t think you’ll need it.
- Garments, Bras
- Socks (pack extra!)
- Pajamas and robe
- T-shirts and long-sleeved shirts
- Shorts or pants
- Sweater for layering
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Dirty laundry bag
- Lingerie (if you’re interested – not all couples are)
Dressy Clothes

If you’ll be attending a local ward’s sacrament meeting during your honeymoon, or want to splurge on a fancy restaurant, you’ll need to dress appropriately.
For Her:
- Dress or skirt

- Pantyhose
- Dress shoes
- Jewelry
For Him:
- Slacks
- Dress shirt
- Tie
- Dress socks

Out and About
Depending on your destination and your itinerary, you’ll want to pack some of these essentials for sightseeing, cool weather, hiking, exercising, and playing sports.
- Water bottles (if you’re flying, bring an empty one to the airport and fill it up after passing security)
- Jacket or coat
- Hats, gloves, or scarf
- Workout clothes and shoes, sports bra
- Running shoes or tennis shoes
- Hiking boots
- Backpacks
- Purse
- Chap stick
- Camera with extra memory cards
- Video camera
- Cell phones and chargers
- Portable GPS
- Travel guides
- Flashlight and batteries
- Umbrellas
For the Sun
Many honeymoons include a lot of swimming, snorkeling, lounging on the beach, or sightseeing all day in the sun. Don’t forget to pack essential sun care items if this describes your honeymoon.
- Swimsuit
- Sarong (if desired)
- Sunscreen
- Aloe vera
- Sunglasses
- Flip flops
- Bug spray
- Plastic bags (for wet suits)
- Sun hat or baseball cap

Toiletries
Between the two of you, you’ll need to bring a lot of personal care items. (If you’re flying, make sure all liquids meet your airline’s size regulations- or pack the liquids in a checked bag- one that is not carried on. NOTE: It’s also a good idea to pack all liquid containers in a zip lock bag as well- for double protection.)
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Dental floss
- Mouthwash
- Chewing gum
- Soap or body wash
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Deodorant
- Perfume/cologne
- Brush and comb
- Hair styling products (hairspray, gel, mousse)
- Ponytails and hair accessories
- Curling iron
- Moisturizer
- Mascara
- Eyeliner
- Foundation and concealer
- Powder
- Mirror
- Lip gloss or lipstick
- Makeup remover
- Contacts and supplies, or glasses (if applicable)
- Razors and shaving cream
- Feminine hygiene (even if you’re not expecting to need it)
- First aid kit and Band-Aids
- Tweezers (both for slivers and eyebrow plucking)
- Tissues
- Over-the-counter pain relievers
- Prescription medications
- Birth control (if applicable)
- Personal lubricant like KY Jelly (important for LDS honeymooners!)
- Massage oil

Money and Other Practicalities
- Bills and coins (for tips, parking meters, etc)
- Travelers checks or travelers check cards
- Credit cards
- Copy of all credit card info (including number to call in case of theft)
- Identification (driver’s licenses and marriage certificate)
- Copies of all reservations and tickets
- Copy of trip itinerary
- House keys
- Important numbers to call in case of emergency, including your hotel
- Addresses for sending postcards

Just for Fun
Even the most exciting honeymoon is bound to have some downtime. Whether you’re killing time before a show or bored while traveling to your destination, these items can keep you busy in the meantime.

- Playing cards, games, mini DVD player, DVD’s
- iPod and headphones
- Journal and pen
- Scriptures
For International Travel
- Passports
- Local currency and conversion chart
- Phone number of your country’s consulate
- Voltage adapters
- Foreign language dictionary
- Motion sickness tablets or bands
For those LDS couples who are honeymooning abroad, there are a few extra considerations when packing.
Of course every destination and itinerary will probably not require every item on this list. Tailor this checklist to your unique circumstances, and remember to coordinate your packing list with your spouse. No need to bring along two tubes of toothpaste – you’re married now!
