Insights from the bride; Vanessa:

Wedding Flowers

My floral arrangements were created by Sunshine Creation Floral in South Jordan. She did a wonderful job, I simply showed her 2 photographs and she knew exactly what flowers, sizes, and prices I wanted! When they delivered my bouquets, they were perfect.

Wedding Cake

My cake was done by One Sweet Slice in South Jordan. I had seen a photo on their website of one that had our colors in it. I showed her the picture and we picked out what size, shape, and flavors we wanted. We had a yummy raspberry swirl and strawberry lemonade.

Tuxedos

Tuxedos by Lees: Marc wanted to have a unique look with the slim tux with the ivory vest and had our father’s and his best man in the slim black tuxedos.

Modest Wedding Gown

My dress was purchased from Abella Bridal in Provo, UT. After I tried on my dress at Abella I had to wait for my mom to come and look at it, so in the meantime we went to several other stores and after store to store I kept thinking about that dress and how it was perfect! Even the woman who worked there said out of all the ones I tried on, that was the best looking on me. It’s an off-white (or ivory). My alterations were done by Christine Davis in South Jordan.

LDS Wedding Reception

My reception was held at Le Jardin in Sandy, UT. It was perfect; we had to reserve the Le Jardin room for our larger family. They help you with all of the details, seat covers, table clothes, table arrangements, bride’s room, food setup, and beautiful gardens inside and out.

Luncheon

We had our luncheon at Noah’s in South Jordan. They had tables, chairs, a projector, and a kitchen for us to set everything up. We invited our close friends and family members to our Luncheon as we shared stories, poems, speeches, and a slide show for our special day. They all did a wonderful job!

Photography

As you know I had Elisabeth Kate do my photography and loved it! Our engagements and Bridals were so fun as was the day of our wedding! She kept things going and our pictures turned out beautifully! She really captured our moments, I wouldn’t have changed a thing!

Wedding Details

Our wedding colors were pretty easy to choose. My husband’s favorite color is Green. He wanted a lime green, but I figured a darker shade of green such as a sage would be perfect. I wanted black and ivory instantly and tried to find the right shade of pink for a while. As soon as we found my sister’s dresses (bridesmaid dresses) we decided on a coral pearly pink. We purchased the dresses from eshakti.com, they are fabulous! Not only are they great priced, but you can customize each dress hem length, and sleeve length. That way we could make them modest but they were still chic looking. Another great tip, we had to order a bunch of ties (over 24 ties for the boys) the best website we found was solidcolorneckties.com.

We had a pretty fast engagement. Only 2 months to plan! But it was perfect, I didn’t stress too much and I tried to find ways of completing things in a fast and orderly fashion. I used Pinterest as a couple of my inspirations as of how to wear my hair and table decorations. Because our family is large we had a lot of love and support through our engagement and wedding day. Everyone was so willing to help out and we loved them being a part of the best day of our lives.

Because Marc was on his fall break at college we had a break from Thursday to Tuesday. We were married that Thursday and returned Monday from our honeymoon. Our honeymoon was in Deer Valley at Stein Eriksen’s Lodge. It was perfect. We drove from the reception straight there (besides the much needed car wash stop). The moment we pulled up to the Lodge, we felt like celebrities! They were so keen to provide us with 5 star hotel services. We enjoyed room service, valet services, hot cocoa, hot tubbing, movies, Park City’s Main street shops and restaurants, and shopping. It was just the right amount of time to get away and enjoy each other.
