Notes from the bride:

Rand and I would relive our wedding day over and over again if we could. It was truly the best day of our lives! In all honesty, there is nothing I would go back and change. Planning a wedding is stressful. There are so many decisions to be made and questions to be answered; at times it was really overwhelming for an indecisive person like myself! What I eventually realized is that I needed to go with my first instinct, don’t look back, and remember that at the end of the day I get to marry my best friend for eternity, so nothing else will make or break the happiness of that day.

Once I decided on a color scheme and theme, things began to fall into place. My incredible mother, with the help of a few close friends, brought everything together in the short two months of our engagement! Our reception was a mix of earthy, rustic décor, and yet she still managed to throw in a flare of my own personal style.
I found inspiration in browsing the website, Etsy.com, where I also ordered my invitations from Postscripts. They have so many unique, handmade items that although at times can be a bit pricey, sparked some great ideas of my own! Pinterest.com also was a great place to search for ideas! Advice I would give to future brides is: don’t be afraid to use your connections! My mom and I would see things at a good friends house, my grandmothers house, or wherever that we wanted to borrow for decorations and so we just asked! My best friend even got her work office to lend us barrels, crates, and tons of other rustic display pieces they had in their warehouse. It added an eclectic feel to the decorations, which is more me, as opposed to something very uniform and formal. My mom went to the flower district, and fabric district in LA to get great quality supplies for the best prices. We got fabric for all our table clothes and my wedding dress there. We tried to do as much as we could on our own, which saved a good amount of money!

The day before my wedding I had my worries about how it would all go and if everything would turn out. I expected it to be hectic and stressful, which I’m sure it was for those working behind the scenes, whom I’m so grateful for. However, from my perspective it was such an enjoyable, easy going day. Our videographer, Lars, and our photographers, Kris and Jason, quickly became part of the family! Kris and Jason were so energetic and made the three hours of photo taking a blast for everyone. They are so creative and really will go to great measures to get a great shot. I couldn’t be happier with our pictures! Lars had been with me since I woke up that morning, getting footage of everything. At our reception he showed a same day edit of the morning events combined with a couples interview that just blew everyone away. He did an amazing job, and I love being able relive my day by watching it! We had so much fun at our reception we didn’t want to leave! The music and food were amazing, and the decorations were exactly what I wanted! I really felt like my wedding day was a reflection of who I am- my beliefs, my style, my idea of fun, with the family and friends I care about most.
