From the Bride:
My wedding details are little unorthodox. Since my parents have never been wealthy, my wedding budget was incredibly small: $1,500. Nevertheless, I was blessed beyond belief during the planning process: my grandparents provided their beautiful backyard for our reception, my mother-in-law provided the food, and a family friend made our gorgeous, delicious three-tiered cake.
I found my dress at Bridal Expression Two in Sandy, Utah; it’s the bargain sister store of Bridal Expressions–I tried on a dress that was absolutely perfect–it was the dress I would scribble on any paper I had in my hands. The dress had a small tear in the sash, but it was on sale for $99. Um, I think that was manageable! However, the sales associate brought up the same exact dress from the back room, still in the manufacturer’s packaging, and since there was no price tag on the new dress, she gave it to me for $99!
Also, I chose my ring off of Etsy. If you want a ring like no one else’s that isn’t too pricey, go there! We got my dream ring for less than $500.
If I have anything to tell future brides, it’s that the most important things about your special day are:
One, your sealing to the love of your life for all eternity in the Lord’s temple
Two, family: Enjoy the time you have with everyone you love in one place–that’s far more special than having a big, white, pricey wedding!
